Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Scott’s experience as a former law enforcement officer and business executive for a high-end security and communication systems firm prompted him to form his own company, SJV & Associates, in 1998. Through his vision and leadership, along with a commitment from a very talented Management Team, SJV has become the supply chain leader for the background screening industry. As SJV’s CEO, Scott’s responsibilities include focusing on strategic planning, developing new business partners, and commitment to overall quality assurance. Scott is an active Board Member for the Kennesaw State University Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice, Internship Advisory Board, while also a member of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences and the Southern Criminal Justice Association.
Chief Product & Technology Officer
Nick is one of SJV’s longest tenured employees, having been with SJV since the year 2000. He is currently serving as Chief Technology Officer. Nick works to ensure SJV’s technology stays ahead of the needs of the future growth of the business. He is responsible for aligning SJV’s technical vision with the company’s strategic goals, while leading the software development, security and systems support teams. Additionally, Nick works closely with SJV’s operational leaders to ensure the business leverages process works with technology to run at maximum efficiency.
Chief Operating Officer
Bill joined SJV in 2016 and currently serves as Chief Operating Officer. He is currently leading the development of SJV’s newest product line, our Verifications Suite. This new product line leverages world class call center technologies, processes, and best practices, to provide customizable verification capabilities to SJV’s clients. Prior to joining SJV, Bill served as the COO for Verifications, Inc. and as EVP of Operations for First Advantage. In these roles, Bill brought his deep Six Sigma and high transaction volume experience to aide both organizations in their evolution.
Chief Financial Officer
Barry is a highly experienced CFO and brings a wealth of experience to SJV from a diversity of industries including hospitality, food service, distribution and service enterprises. Barry specializes in platform scalability, enterprise risk management and process optimization to fuel growth and create value. Barry is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and holds Master of Accountancy and Bachelor of Business Administration degrees, both from the University of Georgia, Terry College of Business.
He and his wife Karen and two daughters – Jacqueline and Katherine – reside in Atlanta.
Chief Marketing Officer
Nick Fishman has been an executive in the background screening industry for over 20 years including 16 of which he co-founded, owned and operated EmployeeScreenIQ, a nationally recognized consumer reporting agency. During that time, Fishman was a client of SJV's and liked the company so much that he was compelled to join the team. He is passionate about the background screening industry and dedicated to helping CRA's grow.
Executive Vice President of Sales & Strategic Accounts
Vince has been with SJV since 2007, and is directly responsible for developing and leading the Sales, Marketing, and Client Service teams of SJV. An active member of NAPBS, he served a four-year term as Chairman of the Provider Committee and also serves as Ambassador for NAPBS Conferences. A frequent speaker at industry-sponsored events and conferences, Vince has led educational sessions on research process, technology advancements in background screening, social media, and quality assurance measures. Vince was also one of SJV's first employees as a career-prep intern, in the year 2000.
Director of Client Services
Jeff has been with SJV since 2007 and is currently leading the Client Services Department. In his role, Jeff’s focus is to ensure our clients have a positive experience as valued business partners and are receiving the highest level of service possible. Jeff previously served as SJV’s Processing Manager and Client Services Manager. This unique combination of experience allows him to inject his brand of leadership and knowledge of the industry across multiple departments, along with his understanding of customer needs and expectations. Jeff earned his Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from Emory University in 2015.
Director of Research
Matt joined SJV in 2011 and currently serves as Director of Research. Previously, Matt served as Quality Assurance Manager and Director of Quality Assurance. Currently, Matt oversees conventional research across the country and manages a talented network of researchers and vendors to deliver fast, accurate, and cost-efficient screening solutions.
Director of Human Resources
Carrie joined SJV in 2004 and currently serves as the Human Resources Department lead. Previously, Carrie held the positions of Quality Assurance Manager and Records Manager. Her experience in Operations, combined with her knowledge in Human Resources uniquely qualifies her acquire top talent that align with the needs of the business, as well as fit the company’s culture and core values. She is a graduate of Kennesaw State University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.
Director of Talent Management
Kirk joined SJV in 2018 and is responsible for providing support across the organization to ensure that all aspects of our products and services meet our high standards for Quality. Kirk’s vast experience with people and business processes has made him one of the industry’s most sought-after Quality Assurance professionals. He holds a Biology degree from Occidental College, as well as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt through Georgia Tech.
Director of Processing
Wade joined SJV in 2013, and his risen through our ranks in various leadership roles. A keen attention to detail and personal accountability led to his recent promotion as Director of Processing. He helps guide SJV’s business motor by driving results to customers in the timeliest and most efficient methods possible. Prior to joining SJV, Wade served four years in the United States Marines, and earned his Bachelor’s degree from Kennesaw State University.
Senior Director of Information Technology
Chris brings over 15 years of Information Technology experience, which includes managing, architecting, developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise systems, networks, software development, and cybersecurity. He leverages his professional experience and expertise to define and implement procedures, processes, and systems that support the strategic objectives of SJV.
Senior Director of Product Development
Jon is an industry veteran who most recently spent the past 6 years at Sterling as Senior Director of Partner Business Operations. Jon supports the continued expansion of our data solutions and proprietary software applications. This position plays a key role in SJV’s customer-centric culture by setting the vision for SJV’s products, both new and existing, and partnering with stakeholders in sales, marketing, operations, & software engineering teams to ensure that customer pain points and use cases are clearly communicated and understood.
