Podcast: Barry Nixon on the Confluence of Workplace Violence and Continuous Criminal Monitoring

Podcast Cover-1

COVID-19 has been a tough time for many of us. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not all bad. We’ve seen communities come together in a way we haven’t seen for many years; families are getting more time together; neighbors are more friendly, actually having conversations with each other. In these ways, it’s brought up a little closer together as a country.

But it has also created tension in public and private life. Unfortunately, being stuck at home has proven to be scary for those that were already living in tense home environments before all of this. According to The New York Times, we’ve seen an increase in domestic violence in the wake of COVID-19.

This is a good reminder for those reading to check in frequently with your loved ones. The domestic violence hotline can be reached at 1−800−799−7233, and you can chat with them on their website.

For the employers or consumer reporting agencies reading this blog, or listening to our podcast, it’s important to know that domestic violence is often a precursor to workplace violence. We explore this connection, and what it means for employers and employee monitoring, in this most recent podcast episode. Joining us today to share his expertise on this topic is Barry Nixon, of PreEmployment Directory
